Brief.
Our partners at Site Pod had a goal of improving the health and safety and welfare standards on construction sites. For too long, our client had experienced poor quality amenities on construction and refurbishment sites which were not fit for purpose and did not promote a healthy working environment. They wanted to change this. Every construction site is required to comply with a number of welfare and health and safety regulations – rightly so.
Process.
Our first step was to visit existing sites and fully understand the problem. We set to work on designing a suite of robust units which would house all the facilities required for workers on site – refrigerator, microwave, hot and cold water, fire safety equipment, and medical equipment.
We created several prototypes that were tested on construction sites to understand the areas of the products that needed to evolve to meet the requirements of challenging environments.
Result.
The final suite of pods far exceed the requirements of the initial project brief and our partnership with Site Pod continues. When a site has a full suite of Site Pods for workers to access, they are complying with health and safety regulations, showing workers they care and promoting well-being, all of which results in a safer and healthier site.
With Site Pods, sites are more productive, efficient and workers benefit both physically and mentally.
